Are You Living Client To Client? Here’s How To Break Free…
Spirit-driven women entrepreneurs love their clients, and love working one-on-one. There’s really nothing like that moment when a new client says YES to themselves through working with you. (I always give a big “wooHOO” when a client says yes – because that’s just how I roll.
)
But let’s face it – having to constantly drum up business and find new clients is exhausting. And it can be really scary when clients aren’t signing on the way that they used to – due to a dip in the economy, too many bad hair days or… whatever.
Truth is, when you’re stuck in the “client to client” mode, you don’t have a business yet – you still have a JOB. In order to make a real impact with your business and create true freedom in your life, you must make the shift from “one-on-one” to “one-to-many” – in both your marketing and service delivery.
And while the transition might seem daunting, what will make the difference is following just a few steps, consistently:
1. Leverage your expertise into information products, teleseminars and group programs.
Low-cost and simple to produce, leveraged offers (like information products and teleseminars) allow you package your process, work once… and get paid over and over and over and OVER again. Despite everyone’s easy access to information, the right programs are still super-hot.
Speaking of small, here’s a power tip: rather than try to pour your years of training, experience and wisdom into a “magnum opus” you’ll never finish, chunk it down into small, specific problems that your clients can easily tackle. Pick the juiciest one (the one they want to solve most) as your starting point.
2. Grow your list (your tribe, fans and followers) and give them great content.
One of my clients recently told me about a yummy potential new collaboration with a powerful partner. “She has a huge following,” my client said. “She can send a couple of emails and make $10,000 from a single teleseminar in a week – that’s how much her fans love her.”
When I checked out this gal’s site, it was easy to see why. She offered great information in the form of tips and articles – AND she clearly knew how to call her peeps to action (i.e., sell).
Never forget that your income comes through people – specifically, the people you serve. While you don’t need a huge list to make a great income (I created my first multi-six-figures with a list of about 650 people), time and in-come freedom come a lot easier when you grow and nurture a tribe of fans and followers who eagerly invest in your leveraged offers.
3. Learn how to launch.
Question: how do you create a continuous stream of steady cash flow?
Answer: Always be launching – that is, making offers to your peeps, both online and off.
Most entrepreneurs only launch a few times a year (or rely on the next client to wander on by) and wonder why they’re struggling to make ends meet. Instead, be pro-active about what you offer and in what order. Power tip: schedule your big paydays first, so your cash flow is covered!
Breaking Free Of The “Client To Client” Vicious Cycle Starts With A Decision…
It won’t happen overnight, but it absolutely IS possible when you make the decision to shift into a Divine Feminine Leader’s mindset.
And that means valuing your time. When you work with clients one-on-one, make sure you’re charging what you’re worth – so you can stop stressing about where your next client is coming from and focus on creating leverage that sets you free.
From One Goddess To Another: Did you see this secret millionaire?
Last night I watched a replay of the season finale of the hit ABC reality show, Secret Millionaire, featuring none other than internet entrepreneur extraordinaire Ali Brown.
In case you’re not familiar with the show, here’s the premise. In each episode, a self-made millionaire goes “undercover” for a week to an impoverished community. The cover story is that they’re doing a documentary on volunteering, but in reality, they are looking for organizations to support and at the end of the week, donate $100,000 of their own money.
You can watch the episode with Ali Brown here. (Or just Google – it’s also on Hulu.com.)
The show brought up a lot for me, so there are many a-has I could share. (Indeed, I actually had something else planned for this article today, but after last night, I decided to save it for later because the show moved me so much.)
The first of these was around waiting. Namely, when it comes to your big contribution, what are you waiting for? (And yes, I’m asking myself that question, too.)
It’s no secret that I believe that spiritual women entrepreneurs are poised to create and facilitate the massive change our world is crying out for right now. One of the biggest reasons we go into business in the first place is to give back.
Yet, many women entrepreneurs do a lot of the wrong kinds of giving – giving away our time, undercharging, and giving services for free. And they wait to do the kinds of giving they really want – donations of money and time to organizations they care about.
It’s another version of “Someday I’ll be able to…” “Someday I’ll have enough money and time to donate to…”
Last night, I was reminded that building a business is a journey, that “someday” is actually right now, and that all of us can actually choose how and when we contribute.
Meaning… if you’re feeling like you “can’t” contribute because your current monthly income is too low… ask yourself, “What amount would I need to make in order to give away X and feel great about it?” (Change your number, in other words. Yes, you can do this!)
And, “What do I have to say ‘no’ to… in order to say YES to my contribution and my mission, starting right now?”
Remember that there’s a true cost to giving yourself away in the wrong way – not just for you, but for your bigger impact, as well.
So here’s my coach’s question for you. What’s one cause you’re passionate about, and what’s one shift you’re going to make in your business to allow you to give back NOW? (As opposed to later?)
Bright blessings and massive success to you…
On April 14 (that’s this Thursday), Ali will be hosting a special fr’e’e call where she’ll be sharing about her experience on Secret Millionaire and answering questions. You can bet I’ll be there, and I invite you to join me. You can register here: http://www.alibrown.com/secretmillionairecall.html

The 10 Essential Keys To A Divine Feminine Lifestyle Business
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve often been asked what was the inspiration behind my interview series, 6-Figure Secrets Of Divine Feminine Entrepreneurs.
The answer can be summed up in that now-famous quote by the Dalai Lama: “The world will be saved by the Western woman.” I believe it to be true… and what’s more, I believe that spiritual women entrepreneurs are the ones poised to have the greatest impact and make the biggest difference. But… we don’t want to give up our relationships, our self-care, our lives to do it.
So I coined the term “Divine Feminine Lifestyle Business” to describe a business that…
- Creates a generous in-come (think 6-figures or more)
- Creates a big contribution. Women business owners giving back.
- Truly supports you and your feminine spirit.
- Truly supports the life you wish to live.
When I asked myself, what does it really take to create a business that hits the “sweet spot” of all four elements above, certain key pieces immediately came to mind. Here’s a quick checklist of the 10 essential components you’ll need:
1. Solve a pressing problem for a specific person. Yes, I’m talking about – say it with me now! – your niche. It’s important to have a compelling niche because people invest in problems they want solved. If you’ve been hearing, “Sounds great, but…” from your potential clients chances are, you’re not solving a problem that’s pressing enough for your peeps.
2. High-end offers. Offering 1-on-1 work at low fees (or giving away too much of your time) is a recipe for burnout, frustration and resentment. It’s also a guaranteed way to keep yourself stuck at a low income level.
One of the biggest mistakes spiritual entrepreneurs make is thinking they’re “not ready” to create a high-end program. Truth is, your high-end offer is what you want to launch first, in order to generate cash flow and guarantee that you work with ONLY highly motivated, committed clients.
3. A business model with multiple streams of income. Even 10 Platinum clients can tap you out quickly, especially if you only want to work 20-30 hours per week. Offering your service in different formats such as teleseminars, group programs and information products allows you to serve more people, without a cap on your time and income.
4. At least one leveraged offer, such as a group program, information product or membership site. In addition to more income in less time, leveraged offers allow you to help people at different points on their path.
5. High-service team. Hear me now, ladies – you can’t do it all yourself. Nobody creates a 6-figure business alone… and quite frankly, why would you want to? Build your team early and if it feels hard, stop and receive support.
6. Systems. Truth is, certain tasks need to happen in your business consistently in order for you to generate in’come, such as marketing, follow-up and client care. You need systems to make sure that they don’t fall through the cracks. The beauty of systems? They can be handed off to someone else, freeing you up for your brilliant work.
7. Your email list. While you don’t need a big list to create multi-six-figures (I’m living proof), at some point you’ll want the leverage that a list of ideal, qualified potential clients gives you. While you don’t want to put your email list before creating in’come, you do want to give it serious attention if you wish to create a business that generates a lot of in’come without you having to work all the time.
8. Strategic alliances. A single partnership with the right strategic alliance can fill your business with clients, add thousands to your email list, and much more. No matter where you are in your business, start creating these relationships now. And if you know some movers and shakers already, now is the time to ask, “How can I create a win-win-win partnership?”
9. Extreme self-care. You can’t give when your cup is empty… or when you’re constantly responding and reacting to every quote-unquote “emergency.” Instead, practice extreme self-care and put yourself first. (I first learned this valuable lesson from a multi-six-figure mentor who freely admitted to putting herself before her kids and her husband.)
10. A “goddess state of mind.” Many spiritual women solopreneurs carry a deep-seated lack of deserving. This completely undermines your ability to receive and serve. Instead, flex your receiving muscle and expand your wealth consciousness by practicing a goddess state of mind using this simple question throughout the day: “Is this fit for a goddess?”
Treating yourself like the goddess that you are will uplevel your experiences, raise your standards and expand your sense of authentic possibility!

An “expensive mistake” is NOT a reason to quit
I often see many spiritual women solopreneurs cheating themselves out of getting the support they need to grow their businesses because of past decisions that didn’t quite work out as planned. Let me tell you about one of my “expensive mistakes”…
Once upon a time, I was working on a project in my business. I made the decision that it was going to rock… and to match that commitment, I hired a mentor to help me.
My intention was to do the right thing, of course. But the minute I showed up for my private intensive, I knew it was the wrong choice.
Now, I’m not hating on the mentor – this person is doing great work in the world, is excellent at what they do and we’re both responsible for what went down that day. But it was kind of a disaster. And I ended the relationship shortly thereafter.
Total investment for one day that didn’t work out: eight thousand dollars.
What’s funny is that even though I didn’t get what I quote-unquote “wanted” to get out of it, I got exactly what I needed. (Truthfully, on the inner growth front, that eight grand was a real steal.)
The lesson, my dear goddess? There is just no way you’re going to create a thriving business without a few mistakes. There’s just no way. (Team is another part of your biz ripe with painfully expensive learning potential.)
And when the “expensive mistakes” happen, you might be tempted to contract. Pull back because the people around you give you crap (“I can’t believe you did XYZ, what were you thinking?!”). Or worst of all… tell yourself that it wasn’t meant to be.
Don’t do that. Those expensive mistakes are when you need to trust yourself the most. This is your Divine Feminine Gift of Owning Your Own Authority.
Looking back, every “expensive mistake” I’ve ever made in my business came from a place of fear and lack, usually masquerading as intuition. When that happens, you have two choices: let the fear win, or… reaffirm your commitment to your dream, and make a new choice based on Divine wisdom.
For me that meant investing in TWO high-end programs this year – the right ones. And I’m more supported than ever before.
Besides, what are mistakes but learning opportunities?
What is the gift in the “mistakes” you’ve made in the past? What have you said “no” to out of fear and lack? What new choice can you make instead?
Guess what? It’s okay to be frustrated!
Talk to any experienced coach and they’ll tell you: with big changes come the phenomenon known as “hitting a wall” or “running up against your stuff.” It goes something like this.
You make a decision to get more clients, increase your fees, grow your list, create a six-figure business, design the life you love. At first, you’re zipping along. You experience some success, you’re finally starting to feel like you have some momentum… and all of a sudden, out comes the “stuff” that has tripped you up in the past.
Guess what! It’s totally OKAY to be frustrated with this annoying pattern. Let’s face it: it’s freakin’ annoying!
It’s okay to be frustrated. No matter what the so-called gurus say, building a six-figure solo business is neither quick nor easy. It takes sustained focus, problem-solving and consistent action to make it happen. Balancing these masculine elements with the Feminine is a challenge. And none of it is easy in the face of all of the internal emotional shenanigans that come up in the process.
It’s okay to be frustrated. But here’s the thing: like everything else in our lives, wallowing in the frustration is a choice.
Personally, I’m okay with being frustrated. I have come to really accept that frustration is part of this process. I am NOT okay with keeping myself stuck in the frustration. It takes me out of the game, disconnects me from the Goddess, keeps me from helping others, and feels like crap.
(It’s also financially costly. Whatever you’re tolerating can be measured in lost dollars and cents in your business – I guarantee it.)
Each and every one of us is responsible for our own experience. In my programs, I challenge my clients to show up and get the outcome they invested in. My coach’s request to you this week is the following exercise.
Take a look at whatever is frustrating you right now. Acknowledge that it’s OKAY to be frustrated. Acknowledge that your frustration is an opportunity for a breakthrough to real, lasting change.
Ask yourself, “What do I want instead?”
Then ask yourself, “What do I need to let go of in order to create what I want?”
Then ask, “What deliberate, inspired action do I want to take right now?”
Remember, what you want is on the OTHER side of whatever frustration you feel right now. I invite you to move through it quickly.
Bright blessings and massive success to you….
