3 Overlooked Ways To Get New Clients Quickly

Most entrepreneurs love the idea of Internet marketing because it’s soooo high leverage – i.e., small actions can be easily multiplied to get big results. Plus, the idea of getting clients from a computer often sounds like heaven compared to the doom-tastic rejection scenarios most of us have built up in our minds. :)

Thing is, while you absolutely CAN get clients from the Internet alone, it takes time – and a steep learning curve – to get all your systems in place. And then even more time to bridge the gap between “Hello, we just met” and “You’re hired!”

Remember, your clients must know, like and trust you before they hire you. The quickest and easiest way to “the know, like and trust factor” is still the old-fashioned way – some kind of personal interaction, such as meeting in person or a phone call. (Incidentally, this is one of the reasons why online video works so well to build your list and sell your services – video is about as close to live as you can get without being live.)

So what do you do when you need clients right now?

The great news is, you have all kinds of opportunities to create the connections that lead to clients hiring you – without a lot of effort. Here are 3 overlooked, high-leverage ways to create a surge of new clients and business quickly:

1. Host a 2-hour workshop and offer a strategy session. When it comes to getting new clients and filling programs quickly, there is nothing like a live and in person experience. That’s why you see so many experts hosting their own live events, often investing 5-figures+ and multiple months of marketing time.

Here’s where many spiritual entrepreneurs go wrong, though: not getting the proper platform selling skills before giving an event. “Selling from the stage” is a skill set like any other, to be practiced and mastered. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t leverage events, even when you’re just getting started.

Instead of offering a program, offer a low-cost or no-cost strategy session. Make it easy to say yes to, and limit the number you have available. Then, enroll over the phone. 10 strategy sessions from a workshop can easily lead to 3, 4 or more new clients for you.

2. Make a “limited time only” special strategy session offer to your list or social networks. When you move from “single shot” or 1-on-1 sessions to value-rich packages and programs PLUS master the art of spirit rich selling conversations, you don’t have to do very many of them to fill your client roster. Create a special strategy session designed to lead to a specific program or offer, then offer the session to your list via email. (Make sure it’s packaged in a way your clients can’t resist, complete with benefits – remember, you have to “sell” the session too.)

3. Host a special event for your current or past clients. Your clients often want more help from you than you realize. Someone who has worked with you before is very likely to work with you further, especially when you create a special something with them in mind. Hosting a special event, either live (such as a special clients-only workshop) or virtual (think teleseminar or virtual VIP workshop) will show your clients you care, plus give you the opportunity to make an authentic invitation to an upcoming program.

To get new clients, you MUST show up! Remember, they are hiring you, not some random person they found on the Internet. You must engage, connect, and most of all, be willing to have a conversation wherein you make the invitation to work with you.

The best way to get clients fast is to create opportunities to have conversations. When you’re just getting started, these conversations will be 1-to-1. The more you’re willing to get out there, TALK to the people you’re meant to help and boldly ask for the business (i.e., the opportunity for transformation), the quicker you’ll fill your business with new clients, and keep happy clients coming back for more.

3 Mo-ney Mindset Must-Haves for the Spiritual Entrepreneur

Most of us go into business for ourselves for so many yummy reasons: to honor our calling, to have an impact in the world, to create freedom for ourselves and the ones we love, to leave a legacy.  Ah, but little do we know when we first start out that spiritual entrepreneurship is really a spiritual growth path in disguise! To succeed as a business owner requires us come face to face with “our stuff,” and transform limiting beliefs and behaviors into those that will support our success.

Nowhere is this more apparent than our beliefs about mo-ney, what it means to make mo-ney, and what it means to be spiritual and make mo-ney.  When it comes to these things, it can feel like we’re pushing the boulder up the hill of old baggage.  Beliefs like “rich people are greedy/bad/evil,” “I’ll lose all my friends if I create more money” will absolutely keep us stuck, safe and small.  But how do we begin to change beliefs that are so deep-rooted?

There are many ways to shift beliefs – indeed, dozens if not hundreds (or thousands?) of courses have been devoted to the topic.  My favorite way is to “try on” a new belief and then make it my own by acting from that place… even if it feels “fake” or uncomfortable at first. Here, then, are 3 transformative, empowering money beliefs for you to take on and make your own:

1. “Making great money is part of my spiritual path.” This one comes from one of my mentors, Kendall SummerHawk.  It took me a little while to wrap my head around it at first (can you relate?) but through experience, I fully began to understand its power.  Here’s the deal: in business, the money you make is a direct reflection of the value you provide to others.  If helping lots of people through your business is a part of your spiritual path (and for most of us spiritual entrepreneurs, it is), it’s impossible to be fully activated, expressed and living that path and NOT make great money.  (So how do we get there?  Embrace the belief first.)

2. “I empower others by giving them the choice to invest in my services.” Many spiritual entrepreneurs believe that they’re being generous or caring when they give away too much of their time, or when they give service away for free.  But because people only value what they invest in, giving yourself away actually robs your clients of their choice to get the powerful transformation they want.  The act of investing will cause your client to step up into a more powerful, confident sense of themselves… and by not discounting, you stand in your power as well.

3. “When I make great money, I give others permission to do the same.” The beautiful thing about this empowering belief is that it gives YOU permission to step into your greatness.  (Or step into your grace-ness, as one of my clients likes to say – love that!)  Imagine what the world would be like if all the spiritual people in the world truly gave themselves permission to receive money… and what amazing things we could do with it….

Remember, changing your results starts with changing your beliefs. To put these new beliefs into action, become aware of when your old beliefs are popping up (hint: this will often look like a challenging or uncomfortable situation).  Then ask yourself this question:

“As someone who believes [new belief]… what action do I wish to take?”

For example…

“As someone who believes that making great money is part of my spiritual path…”

“As someone who believes that when I make great money, I give others permission to do the same…”

“As someone who believes that I empower others by giving them a choice to invest in my services…”

“… what action do I wish to take?”

I invite you to “try on” at least one of these 3 new beliefs this week. Take action from the new place, even if it feels a little wiggy or uncomfortable at first.  Soon you’ll discover your energy shifting from a place of uncertainty to a place of personal power – the best energy state from which to grow your business!

My Favorite – And Fastest – Six Figure Strategies

All solo businesses go through different stages. There’s the beginning stage, otherwise known as “taking the leap” or “OMG am I really going to do this crazy thing?!”

Then there’s what I affectionately call the blundering-around-trying-to-find-your-way stage, a.k.a. “I’m not sure what I do or who I do it for” (lots of experimenting and course-correcting here)…

Then there’s the “chugging along” stage. You’ve begun to hit your stride, you’re starting to make money… hey, this “crazy thing” just might work! You hang out there for a while because, well, things are good.

And that’s when you nudge up against the sick-and-tired-of-being-at-the-same-level stage. You’re getting restless. The desire for expansion, what Wallace Wattles of Science Of Getting Rich fame calls “more life,” hits… and it’s time to step it up to the next level of income, impact and satisfaction.

I love that stage because it’s such a gift. That tug on your heart is your invitation to make the all-or-nothing decision to break through to a 6-figure income and impact.

The great news is, once you reach this point, you’re not starting from scratch! You’ve been going for a while, so chances are you have everything you need to make the transition quickly and gracefully, with just a few simple actions.

1. Tighten up your niche. Moving to your next level quickly (as opposed to the long and slow road) requires that you focus on a specific problem that people are motivated to invest in to get solved. This means releasing any attachment you may have to your process of deep transformation and getting really focused on what your clients want. Now is the perfect time to look at your niche again, to hone and refine. Are you thinking like a client would? How would they describe the problem you solve?

2. Transition to several levels of service, including a high-end offering. To create 6-figures in your business requires you to stop giving away all of your time in 1-on-1 sessions and instead transition to offering service at different levels of investment and availability. Your 1-on-1 time goes at the highest level, in a premium or high-end service such as a Platinum program or private VIP day.

3. Raise your fees. Once you’ve transitioned to different service levels, thinking in terms of “dollars for hours” and pricing your services at a low hourly rate simply doesn’t work. Instead, get very connected to the value of your new packages and price accordingly – in other words, raise your fees!

One of my favorite exercises for this is to make a list of at least 30 results that are possible for your clients when they work with you. This will force you to get very specific and will keep you connected to all the ways you positively impact your clients’ lives.

4. Systematically grow your list. Now that you’ve repositioned, repackaged and re-priced your services to support more people, it’s time to reach more people. Create a campaign to increase your list, including a clear goal (25% is a good number to start) and a “by when” date (shoot for 30-60 days). One way to do this is to create a new irresistible free offer and launch it as you would a new program, using social media and your current peeps to get the word out.

Remember, growing your business means growing yourself. (Entrepreneurship is not known as “the best personal development course on the planet” for nothing.)

Simple as they may be, these actions are bound to push a few of your buttons. And that’s okay. Think of them as stepping up to a whole new level of service and creating value for your clients – which they are!

How To Get Your Clients to Do The “Selling” For You

Money Questions
As spiritual entrepreneurs, it’s pretty much a given that we hate being sales-y, hard selling, used car salesmen and any kind of high-pressure selling situations.  And yet, we have to sell our services and make money if we want to make an impact.  What to do?

If you’ve ever struggled with that dilemma, let me introduce you to the most effective, authentic, non-pushy, unpaid sales force you could ever wish for: your clients.

What your clients say about you to others will always be more impactful with new peeps than anything you could say on your own.  Why?  Because they are proof positive of what you do!  (Others reinforcing your claims through things like testimonials are known as social proof, a proven element of ethical persuasion.)

While you’ll still need to get on the phone with a potential client and “seal the deal” with a value-rich conversation, taking these 3 steps consistently will result in more potential clients who are already pre-sold on working with you.

1. Help ‘em get great results. We all want to help clients get great results because it’s what we truly want for them.  It’s also just good business.  When your clients get great results, chances are they’ll come back for more.  They’ll also sing your praises from the rooftops, talk about you to their friends and send peeps your way.  (Otherwise known as “I have a possible client for you…”)

Helping your clients get results doesn’t have to mean a lot of extra work for you – remember, you are not doing the work.  One strategy: create a signature system that, when followed, inevitably leads them to what they want.

2. Collect testimonials religiously and share them with everyone. When your clients get great results, they will be happy to share the love in the form of a compelling success story… but it’s up to YOU to get them.  And that means being prepared for every opportunity and making collecting them a habit.

The first step is to get into the habit of asking.  When a client sends you an email raving about you, simply ask, “I’d love to feature you in my marketing because I know my peeps will find your story inspiring.  Would you be willing to share your story?” Offer to draft a case study.  Provide them with questions to give you some raw material that you can shape into a “before and after” testimonial for their approval.

Remember, your clients WANT to help you!  But don’t make them figure it out or work hard for you.  Be at the ready with systems to turn their kudos into compelling case studies that attract more clients just like them.  Then post them everywhere: on your website, blog, in your ezine, etc.

3. Appreciate ‘em. Your clients long for acknowledgement and love to be appreciated.  Show your clients that you care with things like thank-you cards, special savings on your classes and programs, and client appreciation events (like a special teleseminar).

What’s the best way to show your clients that you appreciate their referrals?  A thank-you in the form of… money! And you don’t need a formal affiliate program to keep track of things.  Simply ask your new clients, “Who may I thank for your referral?”  And do it – with a check.

You don’t need to “convince” a potential client who is ready to say yes! By nurturing your current clients via these 3 tips, they’ll feel great about referring you to their friends.  Which means you’ll naturally start to experience more people coming to you who already know how you can help them – no convincing required.

10+ 1ncome Streams To Create With Your Signature System

We spirit rich entrepreneurs are a multi-passionate bunch. (If your impressive resume includes several modalities – “coaching and feng shui with a dash of astrology on the side” – or if you’ve ever registered for a training just because it sounded like fun, you know what I’m talking about.)

I believe our multi-passionate nature is one of our biggest strengths as healers and change agents. Unfortunately, though, it can also get in our way, big time. Check out the website of many a spirit rich entrepreneur and you’re likely to see a collection of “stuff”: some 1-on-1 coaching here, maybe a downloadable audio there, a few low-cost workshops… all on different topics.

Here’s the problem: all that “stuff” is preventing your ideal clients from understanding how you can help them. Worse, it actually destroys your credibility. (If they’re not outright thinking “How good can she be if she’s doing a zillion different things?” you can bet it’s seeping in on a subconscious level.) And let’s face it – creating the content for all these different things chews up waaaaay too much time.

The solution is to apply your many passions to the service of ONE problem, then create a step-by-step solution to that problem – a “signature system.” With a signature system, your clients get what you do immediately and very quickly become pre-sold on hiring you because they see exactly how you can help them get what they want.

Best of all, once you have a “sig system” in your back pocket, you now have endless ways to add big paydays to your business without a lot of extra work. Instead of taking a year to write an ebook (ugh!), you can kick out offers in just a couple of weeks – sometimes as little as a day. Why? Because your system is already created!

To get your creative juices flowing, here’s a quick checklist of 10 1ncome streams you can create from a single signature system.

1. High-end private coaching program. The quickest and simplest to implement, and the very first place to start with your new “sig system.”

2. Group programs. Once you’ve taken a few clients through your system, you can easily modify it to serve a group.

3. Certification programs. These are hot right now! Teaching and licensing others your system is truly creating revenue while you sleep.

4. VIP day or retreat, in person virtual. Take your client through your entire system in a focused day or couple of days. This highly focused, intimate, fast way of working is one that your clients will love.

5. Homestudy course. Perfect for “do it yourself” clients or those who really want your help but can’t work with you personally.

6. Teleseminar series. Walk your peeps through your system step-by-step in an intensive telephone course. Clients love this because they get to experience your energy. Don’t forget to include at least one Q+A call!

7. “Bootcamp” style programs. How about creating a 60-day or 90-day program that includes some focused support? These can be done in person or virtual. Support options include a series of laser coaching/Q+A calls, accountability forms, homework buddies, a small group mastermind, etc.

8. In-person workshop or seminar. There is nothing like the in-person experience! And you’ll pick up clients when you include a “here’s how we can work together further” offer from the stage.

9. Irresistible fr’e’e taste. Use your system to build your list by creating a “fr’e.e taste” offer on your website. (This leads to revenue because your taste will include an invitation to work with you.)

10. Preview teleseminar. Use your system to fill your next program! Focus on the juiciest content – the questions your clients really want answered. (What they want, not what you think they need.)

Now that you know how to “repurpose” your valuable content, make sure you have a signature system that your clients will line up to pay for! I’ll help you create your signature system, step by step, in the Spirit Rich Marketing Makeover program. You’ll also create your client-capturing brand using the power of archetypes.
