How to BE the kind of client you want to attract

One thing I love about coaching and mentoring is that there are those moments that can just change everything. Here’s an early one for me..

I had just re-branded my business and was in the process of a massive website overhaul. It felt like a “make or break” moment, so of course I was terrified – especially about finding the “right” kinds of clients.

I had created an ideal client profile and was sharing it with my coach. More terror. Where ARE these people? I thought. And why would they want to work with me?

“This is impossible!” I wailed.

My coach said, “Elizabeth, do YOU do those things on your list?”

We all have to BE the kinds of clients we want to attract. From the “little things” on up to the things that push our buttons: setting fees, hiring team, firing team, setting boundaries, and creating the right environment for success, including who we choose to spend time with and hiring mentors of our own.

The way to begin is simple. Create a list of all the things you want in an ideal client. Then ask yourself, are YOU doing those things?

Be honest. Give special attention to things like how quickly you pay your vendors, payment arrangements, how you show up for calls with your own mentor, and so on. But don’t forget the fun stuff, like how you spend your free time, and self care (massages, anyone?).

Of course, when my mentor first coached me on this, I used it as an excuse to beat myself up and look for ways I wasn’t “good enough.” Don’t do that. You don’t have to be perfect, just committed to being on the journey and pro-actively working on whatever needs cleaning up.

The energy behind this simple exercise is one of the most powerful energetic tools you have when it comes to manifesting what you want in your business, and your life as well.

Bright blessings and massive success to you…
