Spirit Rich Entrepreneur Spotlight: Lisa Zaslow
“I’ve had THREE 5-figure months in a row!”

“Belated thanks for the teleseries you offered earlier this summer!
You shared some great information. I wanted to share a few a-has and results for me:
I was skeptical about how I could develop one-day packages that would generate more income, since my hourly rate already puts me at 4-figures for a day. But when you talked about using an assistant, the light bulb went off! And, as the universe provides, shortly afterwards a wonderful woman contacted me who is interested in working with me in my business.
I also developed a number of ideas for new service offerings as a result of the info in your class.
While 5-figure months have not been uncommon for me, I’m always looking for ways to make hitting my monthly goal simpler and more consistent. Since implementing just ONE of your suggestions, I’ve had three 5-figure months in a row. And your idea takes less than a minute a day. Talk about time management! Amazing!
Thanks for making a difference in my business!”
Want to create YOUR first (or second, or third and beyond) 5-figure month this fall? Stay tuned for more details on how I can help you do exactly that. (To get a jumpstart, be sure to download my “3 Clients In 30 Days” report and audio right here, if you haven’t already!)
Are you doing what’s convenient, or whatever it takes?

John Assaraf
“If you’re interested, you’ll do what’s convenient. If you’re committed, you’ll do whatever it takes.” – John Assaraf
One of my spirit rich marketing coach colleagues, Suzanne Evans, reminded me of this quote when she said it from the stage at her 1-day event in San Diego a couple of weekends ago. Many have heard it. (Maybe you have, too.) In my experience, few peeps really understand what it means.
Here is what it means for me…
- It’s not convenient to invest $20,000+ in my business for coaching, training, and seminars each and every year. (I’ve well surpassed that mark this year and already have my eye on a few options for next year.)
- It’s not always convenient to find and invest in quality team members who keep my business running smoothly (and keep me from going insane *grin*).
- It’s never convenient to get on a plane and be away from my beloved hubby Leland to regularly attend seminars and retreats. (Confession: I hate air travel because even when you go first class, it’s a hassle.)
- I know this is going to seem like a total shock, but it’s not always convenient to write this newsletter on a weekly basis, even though I truly love it! (Yes, I skipped a week last week – it happens!)
- It wasn’t convenient (and certainly not comfortable) to get over my fear of being pushy and what others might think in order to master the critical skill of authentic enrollment conversations…
- It’s not convenient to sink tons of time, energy and money into mentors, programs, vendors, or contractors that don’t work out only to have to start over again from scratch (read: invest more, sometimes not knowing where the money is going to come from)
- It’s not convenient to choose to move forward in the face of uncertainty, and in some cases paralyzing fear. (Of course this still happens to me!)
None of these things are particularly convenient. (And I left a lot of inconvenient things off the list.)
All of them are required to honor the commitment I’ve made to myself, my business, my calling, and those I am meant to transform in the world.
One of the things I highly value is running my business and life from a place of the Divine Feminine. “Doing what it takes” can sound suspiciously like the pushing and striving masculine energy paradigm that doesn’t resonate with many women entrepreneurs. Here’s what I’ve discovered…
“Doing what it takes” doesn’t necessarily mean doing more, or exhausting yourself. (Don’t get me wrong – there are times when you need to roll up your sleeves and “git ‘er done,” as one of my old mentors likes to say.)
“Doing what it takes” usually means stepping through fear with grace… so you can do things differently. Indeed, in the end, doing what it takes usually means freeing up your energy, and concentrating ONLY on the things that you love, instead of being stuck in endless busy-work or doing everything yourself.
So if you’re not satisfied with your clients and in-come right now, my question to you is this: are you doing what’s convenient, or are you doing what it takes? What are you resisting?
Bright blessings and massive success to you…
3 Overlooked Ways To Get New Clients Quickly
Most entrepreneurs love the idea of Internet marketing because it’s soooo high leverage – i.e., small actions can be easily multiplied to get big results. Plus, the idea of getting clients from a computer often sounds like heaven compared to the doom-tastic rejection scenarios most of us have built up in our minds.
Thing is, while you absolutely CAN get clients from the Internet alone, it takes time – and a steep learning curve – to get all your systems in place. And then even more time to bridge the gap between “Hello, we just met” and “You’re hired!”
Remember, your clients must know, like and trust you before they hire you. The quickest and easiest way to “the know, like and trust factor” is still the old-fashioned way – some kind of personal interaction, such as meeting in person or a phone call. (Incidentally, this is one of the reasons why online video works so well to build your list and sell your services – video is about as close to live as you can get without being live.)
So what do you do when you need clients right now?
The great news is, you have all kinds of opportunities to create the connections that lead to clients hiring you – without a lot of effort. Here are 3 overlooked, high-leverage ways to create a surge of new clients and business quickly:
1. Host a 2-hour workshop and offer a strategy session. When it comes to getting new clients and filling programs quickly, there is nothing like a live and in person experience. That’s why you see so many experts hosting their own live events, often investing 5-figures+ and multiple months of marketing time.
Here’s where many spiritual entrepreneurs go wrong, though: not getting the proper platform selling skills before giving an event. “Selling from the stage” is a skill set like any other, to be practiced and mastered. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t leverage events, even when you’re just getting started.
Instead of offering a program, offer a low-cost or no-cost strategy session. Make it easy to say yes to, and limit the number you have available. Then, enroll over the phone. 10 strategy sessions from a workshop can easily lead to 3, 4 or more new clients for you.
2. Make a “limited time only” special strategy session offer to your list or social networks. When you move from “single shot” or 1-on-1 sessions to value-rich packages and programs PLUS master the art of spirit rich selling conversations, you don’t have to do very many of them to fill your client roster. Create a special strategy session designed to lead to a specific program or offer, then offer the session to your list via email. (Make sure it’s packaged in a way your clients can’t resist, complete with benefits – remember, you have to “sell” the session too.)
3. Host a special event for your current or past clients. Your clients often want more help from you than you realize. Someone who has worked with you before is very likely to work with you further, especially when you create a special something with them in mind. Hosting a special event, either live (such as a special clients-only workshop) or virtual (think teleseminar or virtual VIP workshop) will show your clients you care, plus give you the opportunity to make an authentic invitation to an upcoming program.
To get new clients, you MUST show up! Remember, they are hiring you, not some random person they found on the Internet. You must engage, connect, and most of all, be willing to have a conversation wherein you make the invitation to work with you.
The best way to get clients fast is to create opportunities to have conversations. When you’re just getting started, these conversations will be 1-to-1. The more you’re willing to get out there, TALK to the people you’re meant to help and boldly ask for the business (i.e., the opportunity for transformation), the quicker you’ll fill your business with new clients, and keep happy clients coming back for more.

“Four new clients in 2 weeks – and I’m no longer hiding out…”
“Before enrolling in Elizabeth’s MMM program I felt like I was wandering around in the dark. I knew about many of the marketing pieces that all the big gurus talk about, but I was so overwhelmed. I had no idea how to fit all of those pieces together to attract and enroll the right clients. And I absolutely dreaded selling my services in 1-on-1 conversations.
One of the biggest shifts in my business occurred when Elizabeth challenged me to get four new clients in two weeks. I could hardly believe my own ears when I heard myself say, “Okay, I can do that.” Three days later I had my first new client. And a week after that, my second. I was amazed at how easily it happened once I made up my mind to shift the energy from fear and lack to creation and abundance.
Those last 2 clients required me to step outside of my comfort zone by really reaching out and asking for business. And I froze! I actually started hiding out in some of my old patterns of busying myself with administrative work, e-mail or other “obligations” to avoid the discomfort of calling people up and asking for business.
Then, with only a few days left of my challenge, I reached out to Elizabeth and my MMM sisters on our community forum. They reminded me why I went into business in the first place, and that if people didn’t know about the valuable service I offer, I wasn’t helping my potential clients or myself. That was all I needed to push past my fears of rejection. With only a day left in the challenge, I booked 2 new clients!
Now here’s the surprising part: 2 of the 4 clients I booked actually told me that they couldn’t afford my services. Normally I would have lowered my prices to try to accommodate them. Instead, I held firm, letting them know that I would be happy to work for them when it was right for them. Within a couple of days, BOTH clients booked their sessions and both were absolutely thrilled with their results!
I truly believe that by allowing my clients the opportunity to step up and invest in their own growth, they showed up to the sessions more committed to their own transformational process. It was a win-win for everyone.
Now, I no longer feel like I’m ‘selling’ myself and the pressure to make a ‘hard sale’ is totally gone. My strategy sessions are turning out to be a lot of fun for me and I love watching my potential clients get the a-ha moments they need to take the next step with or without me. Instead of hiding out in e-mail, I’m actually looking forward to talking to people one-on-one, and I’m amazed at my own progress as the dreaded “enrollment conversation” becomes more natural and effortless.
Elizabeth definitely keeps me pushing past my stuck points and reaching beyond my comfort zone, but she also give me the tools to do it with more confidence than before. I feel like a switch as been flipped and the lights are finally on – the pieces are coming together!”
